Here you will find details of important information including payments, bookings, e-tickets, transfers, and cancellations.

These are the General Terms of Service and Cancellation Policy of Perla norðursins hf., kt. 561115-1680, Varmahlíð 1 (Öskjuhlíð), 105 Reykjavík, Iceland.

These terms and policies apply to all guests visiting Perlan and purchasing their services/products e.g., at https://www.perlan.is, hereafter called website, through Bókun (Perlan booking system), or at site at Perlan, Varmahlíð 1, 105 Reykjavík, Iceland.

1. Prices and payments

All purchases made at Perlan or through the website require full payment at the time of purchase.

Prices quoted can change without notice.

If payment is made to Perlan in EUR or USD, the price is fixed. A cash payback is always in ISK.

After payment has been made and/or an invoice has been issued, the price is guaranteed against any surcharge unless there is a price increase due to government laws or currency fluctuations.

The admission that includes multiple services and/or products is solely based on availability at the time of visit. All the products and/or services included in admission type, e.g., reservations at restaurants, are subject to availability.

Should these services/products be unavailable for any reason, you will be entitled to a refund of that service/product or change your booking to another time and/or date without having to pay any change fee.

2. E-tickets

When you book your admission at the website or at Perlan, the electronic ticket you receive can only be used once. All subsequent usages will be refused.

Unlawful resale or attempted resale is grounds for seizure and cancellation without compensation. Tickets obtained from unauthorized sources (lost, stolen, or counterfeit), will be voided. Tickets are not redeemable for cash. It is illegal to reproduce them in any form.

The ticket is valid only at the date and time selected in the booking process and is clearly stated on the ticket you received after completing your purchase. If you don’t arrive at the pre-booked date and time, Perlan cannot guarantee availability.

3. Amending a booking for Perlan

To amend a booking, please send us a request via email at info@perlan.is and reference your original booking confirmation number. Groups buying tickets via Bókun need to make amendments in Bókun. A group can change the ticket to another date within 24 hours of booked service hour.

Where changes involve moving from a higher-priced ticket to a lower-priced ticket, the difference will not be refunded. You cannot change the date or time of a booking after the originally selected date/time has passed.

4. Cancelling a booking

A. Individuals 

All cancellations must be presented to Perlan via agent@perlan.is.

If you cancel with more than 24 hours’ notice: 100 % is refunded.

If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice: No refund is made. You can change your ticket to another date at the date of booking.

Perlan reserves the right to cancel all bookings and reservations, when unable to provide the company’s services due to Force majeure events, such as but not limited to weather, strikes, natural disasters, or any other irregularity outside the company’s control. In such an event, no compensation or refund is payable.

Perlan disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accidents, sickness, or changes in schedule caused by Force Majeure events, such as but not limited to weather, strikes, natural disasters, or any other irregularity outside the company’s control and for expenses due to any of these reasons.

Perlan disclaims responsibility for any guest valuables that might get lost or damaged during the visit. All such losses and expenses are the personal liability of the guest.

B. Groups booked via Bókun

All cancellations must be made through BÓKUN (Perlan booking system). 

If a group cancels with more than 24 hours’ notice: 100 % is refunded.

If a group cancels with less than 24 hours’ notice: No refund is made. Group can change ticket to another date at the date of booking. 

Perlan reserves the right to cancel all bookings and reservations, when unable to provide the company’s services due to Force majeure events, such as but not limited to weather, strikes, natural disasters, or any other irregularity outside the company’s control. In such an event, no compensation or refund is payable.

C. Private Events

Perlan offers a full refund if cancelled 15 days before arrival for pre-booked private events:

All cancellations must be presented to Perlan in writing, via e-mail, at agent@perlan.is.

Refund policy for private event cancellation is as following:

Fifteen days or more before the reserved private event date - Full refund.

8-14 days before the reserved private event date - 80% will be refunded.

1-7 days before the reserved private event date - 20% will be refunded.

All cancellation fees held by Perlan are only intended to cover our direct cost of amending and/or cancelling the reservation.

Perlan reserves the right to change or cancel booking and reservation by events of operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. Such events as natural hazards, unfavourable weather or extreme conditions, equipment malfunction, or any other similar events that could result in the temporary closure of Perlan or one of Perlan exhibitions. All bookings and reservations which Perlan cancels, the Reseller shall be entitled to either a full refund or to change the booking to another date free of charge.

We advise all our customers to have valid travel insurance. This insurance should be obtainable in your country of residence.

5. General provisions

You agree that any claim, action, or lawsuit arising out of these terms and conditions and/or the services/products purchased, shall be interpreted, and governed in conformity with Icelandic law. For any legal dispute which may arise, both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction and competence of the Judges and Courts of the town of Reykjavík, Iceland.

6. Terms amendments

Perlan reserves the right to change these Terms of Service and Cancellation Policy at any time. The date of the last revision of these Terms of Service is set in this document.

Your continued use of Perlan webpage after any such modifications will constitute your acknowledgment of the modified Terms and agreement to abide by the modified Terms.
